Roles on Our Robotics Team

Build Team

One of our biggest teams, the build team makes the physical robot by using Computer Assisted Design (CAD) to 3D print parts and designs for the robots that we will be using for competition. Students will manifest what was created on CAD to make our competition-worthy robots come to life. Our build team is strong in both design and electrical skills to create a strong, competitive robot. Any problems that arise during the competition are typically addressed by the build team so builders must be quick on their decision making.

Programming Team

Our determined programming team works together to both autonomously and manually program our robot’s movements. The team utilizes the programming language Java as its go-to code program. Our programmers work together with the build team to understand both mechanical and software limitations of the robot to allow our robot to run smoothly during the competition. Their main goal is to ensure that our robot can perform the tasks given and make sure that the driver can control the robot.

Public Relations Team

Our Public Relations (PR) team’s primary goal is to establish connections with the community to secure funding for our robots and to spread awareness of STEM throughout the community. They also manage our public image (website, social media, and community outreach) and create merchandise that can be used to spread awareness about our team. The PR team also strives to boost team morale and teamwork by organizing team events and games to solidify our links between teams.
